Suspicious activity in Wilcox Road, Chipping Norton

We’ve received reports of a suspicious person trying car door handles and stealing items from vehicles in the Wilcox Road area at approximately 2:30am this morning, 23/11/2025. This individual appears to be checking for unlocked cars and taking any valuables left inside.

Please remain vigilant and report any suspicious behaviour immediately.

Crime Prevention Advice:

Always lock your vehicle, even if you’re only stepping away for a moment. Double-check it’s secure before going inside.

Remove valuables such as bags, wallets, tools, loose change, or electronic devices. If it looks worth taking, it probably is.

Keep keys out of sight and away from doors and windows to reduce the risk of keyless theft.

Park in a well-lit area wherever possible. Lighting alone can deter opportunists.

Install CCTV or a video doorbell overlooking your drive or parking area — it’s hugely helpful for identifying offenders and deterring crime.

Report anything suspicious immediately via 101 or 999 if a crime is in progress.
